Creating individual encumbrance

The project assignment labor records that are in the Entered state are used in the Encumber Salary action. The salary encumbrance is created based on the percentage that is specified in the Planned Percent fields.

  1. Sign in as Project Accountant or Project Resource.
  2. For Project Accountant, select Project Management > Labor Distribution.

    For Project Resource, select Employees Labor Distribution and Redistribution.

  3. On the Employees pane, select an employee record.
  4. On the Open Labor Periods pane, open a labor period record for the employee.
  5. Specify the Planned Percent and Actual Percent for each project assignment for the period. The encumbrance amount is based on the planned percent specified.
  6. Click Save.
    The Status is changed to Entered.
  7. Select Actions > Create Encumbrance Individual.
  8. Specify this information:
    From Period
    Select a period to begin the encumbrance date range. The default value is the period for the selected record.
    Through Period
    Select the end date of the date range to create the encumbrance records.
  9. Click Submit.
