Integration of Project Ledger with other Infor solutions

This table describes the interaction between Project Ledger and other Infor solutions:

Solution Description
Allocations Using Global Ledger allocations, you can automatically disperse indirect costs between accounts, projects, or any of the finance structure dimensions. See the Global Ledger User Guide to create and use project allocations.
Budgeting Global Ledger is integrated with Infor d/EPM Budgeting and Planning. If d/EPM is not used, budget data can be imported using any of the Landmark import methods. Budgets can span multiple dimensions, including projects. A budget scenario holds information for a specific budget. Multiple active budgets are supported for reporting and budget edits. Use Infor EPM Platform App Studio to produce reports which compare actual to budgeted amounts. See the Global Ledger User Guide to create and use project budgets.
Currency The Global Ledger Currency solution is used to maintain the information that is required to conduct business and projects operating in multiple currencies. The currency system is used to maintain currency codes, currency relationships, exchange rates, and translation rates. These currencies are tracked on finance balances and transactions:
  • The currency of the transaction
  • The accounting entity functional (base) currency and three alternate reporting currencies
  • Up to five enterprise reporting currencies
  • Project currency
See the Financials Setup and Administration Guide to setup currency.
Global Ledger Global Ledger is the central repository for all financial data in Financials. Project Ledger is one of the dimensions in the finance structure. As one of the dimensions, Project Ledger inherits the same functionality as any classic or user dimension, including budgets, allocations, and analytics. Use Global Ledger for these tasks:
  • Creating and maintaining project journal entries
  • Project transaction interfaces
  • Project recurring journal entries
  • Project period and year end closing
  • Project currency translation and revaluation
  • Project system control

See the Global Ledger User Guide.

Receivables If you use Project Invoicing and Revenue, invoices and credit memos that are created in Project Ledger can be viewed and cash can be applied in Receivables.

See Project receivables for viewing project receivable invoices and prepayments for project contracts.

Asset Accounting Project Ledger can be used to track capital projects. When the project is complete, capital transactions can be interfaced to Asset Accounting to create an asset.

See the Asset Accounting User Guide to create project asset interface records.

Infor EPM Platform Application Studio Global Ledger and Project Ledger are designed around analytics. Global Ledger includes these delivered cubes:
  • A primary cube, GLTOT, for financial reporting. The GLTOT cube is built from the GeneralLedgerTotal business class.
  • FINGP, built from the FinanceEnterpriseGroup business class.
  • DEPM, build from the DEPMDimensionMap business class.
Use Infor EPM Platform Application Studio to access standard reports for Global Ledger and Project Ledger.
