Reversing journalized indirect burden transactions by posting project

When you reverse the journalized indirect burden transactions, these events occur:

  • The status is changed from journalized to created.
  • The project date range is validated, but these issues are not validated:
    • Valid pairs
    • Rules for structure validation
    • Inactive dimensions

If the rate was calculated incorrectly, then delete the burden, change the rate on the indirect burden code, and regenerate. If the burden post to and offset accounts are incorrect, then edit the account setup and run the journalize indirect burden action.

  1. Sign in as Project Accountant, Project Administrator, or Project Manager.
  2. For Project Accountant, select Project Management > Project List.
    For Project Administrator, select Setup > Project Setup.

    For Project Manager, select Project List.

  3. Select the Structure tab.
  4. Open a project structure and select the Hierarchy tab.
  5. Open a posting project that has indirect burden transactions.
  6. Select the Burden Transactions tab.
  7. Select the burden to reverse. Select Actions > Reverse.
  8. Specify this information:
    Posting Date
    Specify the date for the reversal transaction.
    Delete Reversed Transaction
    Select this check box to delete the reversed transaction. If this check box is not selected, then the reversed transaction status is updated to Created.
  9. Click Submit.
  10. If the Delete Reversed Transaction check box is selected, then click OK to confirm.
