Customs duty is a tariff or tax that is imposed on specific commodities, financial
transactions, or goods purchased abroad.
New Zealand specifics
Certain goods coming into New Zealand may be subject to Customs duty. Generally, the rate is 5% to 10%. Allowances and Duty free concessions may also apply.
