Allocation line weight compute statements

Three weight compute statements can be used in allocations:

  • Summary or group weight compute statement. A summary or group weight compute statement must be specified for the allocation line if:
    • The From Post or To Post option is set to Split.
    • In the Multiple Override section, a Summary Override or Group Override is specified.
  • Manual override weight compute statement. A manual override weight compute statement must be specified for the allocation line if:
    • The From Post or To Post option is set to Split.
    • In the Multiple Override section, override option is set to Multiple Dimensions and override type is Manual Override.
  • Group override weight compute statement. A group override weight compute statement must be specified for the allocation line if:
    • The From Post or To Post option is set to Split.
    • In the Multiple Override section, override option is set to Multiple Dimensions and override type is Group Override List.

See Valid combinations of To and From posting options.

With summary or group weight compute statements, manual override weight compute statements, and group override weight compute statements, you can define a compute statement to automatically pull balances or statistical data from the GeneralLedgerTotal business class for use as weight values.

To read balances from the GeneralLedgerTotal business class for use with weight values, the compute statement must reference a custom total. For the custom total to retrieve the weight values for the dimension overrides, the custom compute statement must override the custom total address. The custom total address is replaced by the allocation dimension overrides.
