Posting multiple journal entries

Post multiple journal entries at a time. You can post the entries immediately or schedule them for posting. The selected journal entries must be in the Released state, and hold codes must be removed.

  1. Select Processing > Journal > Post Journals.
  2. Specify this information:
    Accounting Entity Option
    • Select All to post journal entries for all entities.
    • Select Single to post journal entries for a single entity. If you select Single, then the Accounting Entity field is displayed.
    • Select Group to post journal entries for an accounting entity group. If you select Group, then the Accounting Entity Group field is displayed.
    Accounting Entity
    If you selected Single for the Accounting Entity Option, then select an accounting entity to post journal entries to.
    Accounting Entity Group
    If you selected Group for the Accounting Entity Option, then select an accounting entity group to post journal entries to.
    Ledger
    Select the ledger for the journal entries to post to. If you do not select a ledger, then all of the ledgers are included.
    System
    Select the system code for the journal entries to post. If you do not select a system code, then all of the system codes are included.
    The system code for journal entries originating in Global Ledger is GL.
    Period Option
    Select the period for which journal entries are posted. You can select the current, previous, or next period.

    If you select Specify Period, the Period field is displayed.

    Period
    If you selected Specify Period for the Period Option, specify the calendar period to use in the selection of the journal entries that are posted.
    Post Through Date
    If you selected Single or Group for the Accounting Entity Option, select a post through date for the journal entries. Only journals that have a posting date on or before the specified post through date will be posted.
  3. Click OK to post the journal entries now or click Schedule to schedule the action later. When the action is completed, the journal entries that meet the selected criteria are moved to the Posted tab. The account balances are updated.
    The transactions can no longer be changed or backed out.
  4. Select Processing > Journal > Journal Posting Results to view the results of each run.
