Manually defining patient charges

Patient charge information contains patient demographic information and information about items or services that are used for the patient.

Before you specify patient charges, ensure that your organization has updated the patient demographic data. You can load patient demographic data from an interface file. You can also manually define patient demographic information.

  1. Select Patient Charge Processing > Patient Visits.
  2. Open a patient record.
  3. On the Detail Charges tab, click Create.
  4. Specify this information:
    Revenue Center
    Select the department with which charges are associated.
    Source Location
    Select the location that is the source of the supplies.
    Date Of Charge
    Select the date the supply is given to the patient.
    Item
    Select an item number to be replenished in inventory.
    Quantity
    Specify the requested quantity.
    Charge Number
    Specify a charge number.
  5. Click Save.
