Creating select IDs

Before you use the select ID for physical inventory, verify that previous freeze records have been deleted.

Define select IDs to identify which items to count during a physical inventory assessment. To perform different types of inventory assessments, you can define multiple select IDs which identify unique item combinations.

  1. Select Physical Inventory > Manage Select IDs.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Company
    Select a company number.
    Select ID
    Specify a select ID and its description. Select IDs are used to identify a group of items and item selection criteria for physical inventory count. Select IDs can be cyclically used.
  4. On the Initial tab, specify this information:
    Count Quantity Required
    Select this check box to require count quantity for all items represented by this select ID.
    Require Unit Of Measure
    Select this check box to require the unit of measure when recording counts.
    Page Totals Required
    Select this check box to include page totals when entering counts. When this box is checked, you enable the solution to verify the page totals entered to avoid error.
    Freeze Zero Stock On Hand
    Select this check box to include items with a zero stock on hand quantity.
    Freeze Zero Unit Cost
    Select this check box to include items with a zero unit cost.
    All Locations
    Select this check box to include all locations.
    Report Group
    Select a report group. Report groups are used to classify locations for reporting, inquiry, and processing purposes.
    Consignment Items
    Select whether to include consignment items, to not include consignment items, or to include only consignment items.
  5. Click Save.
  6. On the Inventory Classes tab, specify this information:
    Major/Minor
    Select a major and minor inventory class. Inventory classes can be used as selection criteria for replenishment, physical inventory, reports, and inquiries.
  7. Click Save.
  8. On the Bin Groups tab, specify this information:
    Freeze Empty Bins
    Select this check box to create freeze records for empty bins.
    Bin Group Select
    Select a Bin Group Select.
    Bin Groups
    Specify bin groups. These are setup in Bin Groups and are assigned to items set up for bin tracking.

  9. Click Save.
  10. On the Logic tab, specify this information:
    Include Availability Less Than Zero
    Select this check box if items have an available quantity less than zero.
    Include Negative Stock on Hand
    Select this check box if items have a negative stock-on-hand quantity.
    Transactions Since Last Count
    Specify the option to select items according to the number of transactions that are created since the items were last counted. When you specify a value in this field, items with more transactions than the specified value are frozen.
    Accuracy Less Than This Percent
    Specify the movement class items with an accuracy of less than this percentage.
    Cycle Count Days
    Specify the number of cycle count days. This field applies to all cycle counts.
    Maximum Number to Count
    Specify the maximum number of items to count. This field applies to all cycle counts.
  11. In the Movement Class Selections section, specify this information:
    Classes to select
    Select the movement class to count items in this class.
    Accuracy less than this percent
    Specify the option to select movement class 1 items with an accuracy less than this percent.
    Cycle count days
    Specify the number of cycle count days. This field applies to all cycle counts.
    Maximum number to count
    Specify the maximum number of items to count. This field applies to all cycle counts
  12. Click Save.
  13. On the Items tab, select the items that are identified for inventory count.
  14. Click Save.
