Importing forecast demand

Create the input file of forecast demand records in a comma separated value (CSV) file format. This information is required in the CSV file for each Production Management forecast demand record: company, location, finished good item identifier, quantity, required by date.

  1. Sign in as Work Order Manager, and select Create Processing Reports > Forecast Demand Interface.
  2. Run this program to import quantities from the CSV file. Specify this information:
    Company
    Select a company.
    Location
    Select a valid stock location as defined in Inventory Control. It is also the production facility where finished goods are produced for work orders.
    Date Needed
    Specify the expected date the finished good is required. Alternatively, you can specify the number of working days from the current system date that the finished good is required.
    Note: Specify a date in only one field. If you specify a date in both fields, the Date Needed field is used as the default.
    Plus Number Days
    Specify the number of working days from today that the finished good is required.
    Note: If you specify a date in both fields, the Date Needed field is used as the default.
    Impact on Forecast Demand
    Select an option to use for the impact on existing Production Management forecast demand. This value is used when loading new forecast demand for a finished good on a required by date and a forecast demand record already exists.
    • Use Replace to replace the existing quantity with the imported quantity.
    • Use Add to Quantity to add the imported quantity to the existing forecast demand quantity.
    • Use No Update if you do not want to replace or add to the quantity if a forecast demand already exists.
    Release
    Select Yes to release the forecast demand records after they are created. Select No to leave them in an unreleased status.
  3. After you run the program, the demand displays an Unreleased status. Click the Manage Forecast Demand tab access the Work Order Forecast Demand List page to release forecast demand for scheduling.
