Output documents and templates

Infor Document Output Management (IDM) templates are used to generate output documents in Financials & Supply Management.

Note: Before you set up your templates, ensure that you have loaded the Document Management configuration file and have configured the system to use templates. For example, you can use a Document Management template to generate a purchase order issue document. The templates are in Microsoft Word (.docx) format.

A corresponding sample template is provided with each output document. The sample templates that cannot be changed or deleted. The sample template records have a _ST suffix on their names. This list shows the sample output documents:

  • Sample templates

    You can use the pre-delivered sample templates to create the templates that you use. You can modify the sample templates to align them to your business. For example, you can add a logo, insert a new field, or change the formatting styles.

  • Fact sheet

    A fact sheet contains field mappings of all fields that are included in the output documents. The field mapping is located in the fact sheet column of each sample document template. The Fact sheet also contains instructions to set up the Document Management template and to generate an output document.

  • XML

    An XML file contains the list of fields to add to the template. This file is loaded or imported to the IDM word plugin tool when you create or edit a specific IDM template. A corresponding XML file comes with each sample IDM template.

  • Sample email templates

    You can use the pre-delivered sample email templates to create the IDM email templates and customize them for your business. For example, you can add a logo, insert a new field, or change the formatting styles.
