Copying posting projects

  1. Select Project Setup.
  2. Click the Structure tab.
  3. Open a project structure and click the Hierarchy tab.
  4. Select a posting project and select Actions > Copy Posting Project.
  5. Specify this information:
    Parent Project
    Select a new parent project. The default value is the current parent project.
    Project
    Specify the project name and description. You cannot change the name after you save the project but you can change the description.
    Description
    Provide a description of the project.
    Begin Date
    The default value is from the copied project. Child project dates must equal or be within the date range of the parent project. Begin and end dates on posting projects are used to define valid date ranges for subsystem journal entries.
    End Date
    The default value is from the copied project. Child project dates must equal or be within the date range of the parent project. Begin and end dates on posting projects are used to define valid date ranges for subsystem journal entries.
    Project Status
    Select the project status for posting projects. The status code indicates which actions can be performed for posting projects.
    Copy Project Assignments
    Select this check box to copy the project assignments when copying the posting project. Assignments are automatically created for the new posting project. You can make changes to the assignment when you view the new posting project.
    Copy Project Billing Overrides
    Select this check box to copy the billing overrides when copying the posting project. The same billing overrides are automatically created for the new posting project. You can make changes to the overrides when you view the new posting project.
    Copy Project Personnel
    Select this check box to copy the project personnel when copying the posting project. Personnel with roles are automatically created for the new posting project. You can make changes to the personnel when you view the new posting project.
  6. Click Submit.
