Creating a project upload

  1. Select Financials > Project Ledger > Setup > Project Setup.
  2. On the Structure tab, open the enterprise structure.
  3. On the Upload tab, click Create.
  4. Specify this information:
    Run Group
    Specify a run group for the upload.
    Project Type
    Select the project type. If you select Posting, then you cannot create a child project for this project. If the project is a posting project that will be added to an alternate structure, then the posting project must exist in the enterprise structure.
    Project
    Specify the project name. You cannot change the name after you save the project, although you can change the description if the project is a summary project.
    Description
    Provide a description of the project.
    Parent Project
    Specify the parent project.
    Begin Date
    Projects are temporary in nature, with a begin and end date. Select project begin and end dates on summary projects in the enterprise structure.
    End Date
    The begin and end dates of a parent project are the default values for child projects. Child project dates must be equal to or within the parent dates. Begin and end dates on posting projects are used to define valid date ranges for subsystem journal entries.
    Address Code
    Specify the location address code for the project.
  5. If the Project Type is Summary, complete the form. For field definitions, see Creating project hierarchies.
  6. If the Project Type is Posting, complete the form. For field definitions, see Creating project hierarchies.
  7. Click Save.
