Creating cash allocation codes

An allocation code is a code used to create multiple distributions for a single transaction based on a predefined setup.

  1. Select Cash Allocation Codes.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify a code and description.
  4. Specify this information:
    Allocation Type
    Select the GL account information that is applicable to the cash transaction:
    • Select Account Only to use the default GL account information.
    • Select Amount to use the default GL account information.

      Specify the total amount in the Control Total field. The sum of the amounts on the allocation detail line must be equal to the Control Total to activate the allocation code.

    • Select Percent to use the default GL account information with a percentage breakdown for each line. The percentage must equal 100% to activate the allocation code.
  5. Click Save.
    Note: To use the allocation code on another record or to show it in a select list, the record must be active.

    The Cash Allocation Code Details tab can be modified if the cash allocation code is not active. Specify the required information and click Save.
