Creating asset product categories

Select an asset type record.

On the Product Categories tab, click Create.

Specify this information:
- Manufacturer ID
- Select an alphanumeric ID that represents the manufacturer of
one or more assets in asset accounting. The combination of
Manufacturer
ID and Manufacturer Name field must be
unique and represent a unique line of data.
- Manufacturer Name
- Specify the name of the manufacturer.
- Model Number
- Specify the model number of the items that is added or inventoried.
- Item Description
- Specify a description for the whole product category line.
- Bar code
- Use a barcode to track physical inventory by associating assets
with a unique barcode. Some assets have vendor-supplied bar-coded
numbers. You can scan these bar codes when adding the assets.
