Creating customer groups

  1. Select Customer Group.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify the Customer Group code and description.
  4. On the Main tab, specify the Last Customer Number.
  5. In the Aging section, specify this information:
    Default Aging Method
    Select whether transactions are aged by due date or transaction date when aging across companies.
    Age Credits
    Select the method by which credit memos are aged when aging across companies.
    Age Payments
    Select the method by which payments are aged when aging across companies.
    Age Disputes
    Select the method by which disputes are aged when aging across companies.
    Aging Periods
    Specify the aging periods that are used when aging across companies. Specify the periods in consecutive and ascending order. If these fields are blank, then 30, 60, 90, and 120 are the default values. If the Additional Aging Periods check box is selected, then three additional aging periods are available for a total of seven aging periods.
    Current Days
    Specify the number of days that separate the current and future aging periods. Current and future aging periods contain transactions that are not past due for due date aging or past transaction date for transaction date aging.
    Additional Aging Periods
    Select this check box to show three additional Aging Periods fields and one additional Future Days field.
    Future Days
    If the Additional Aging Periods check box is selected, then specify the number of future days that are used when aging across companies.
    Transaction Sequence
    Select the transaction sequence that is used on aging reports when aging across companies.
    Display Date
    Select the date that is used to specify what open obligation data is displayed on aging reports. This option is used only for obligations and is not related to the aging method.
  6. In the Rules section, specify this information:
    Currency
    Specify the currency that is used when transaction amounts are combined across companies for customer group balances.
    Currency Display
    Select whether transaction amounts are displayed in the base currency or the transaction currency.
    Bill of Exchange Processing
    Select this check box if bills of exchange are processes by this customer group.
    Use Billing Receivables Portal
    Select this check box if the Billing and Receivables Portal is used by this customer group.
  7. In the Attachment Size section, specify the maximum size for the customer logo and select the unit of measurement for the maximum size.
  8. On the Options tab, specify this information:
    Processing Electronic Funds Transfers
    Select this check box if electronic funds transfers are processed for the customer group. If you select this check box, then also select whether the level of processing is company level, group level, or no processing.
    Use IDM Template
    If Processing Electronic Funds Transfers is set to the group level, select this check box if the IDM template is used for transfer notifications.
    EFT Notification Print Template
    If the Use IDM Template check box is selected, specify a transfer notification template.
    System Calendar
    Specify the calendar that is used to process electronic fund transfers.
    Due Days
    Specify the number of due days that are used to calculate the ending due date range. If you specify a number, then also select whether the number of days are actual days or bank days.
    Global Ledger Days
    Specify the number of global ledger days that are used to calculate the global ledger posting date for the cash deposit. If you specify a number, then also select whether the number of days are actual days or bank days.
    Deposit Days
    Specify the number of deposit days that are used to calculate the deposit date for the cash deposit. If you specify a number, then also select whether the number of days are actual days or bank days.
  9. In the Additional Application Sort Fields section, specify up to four sort labels.
  10. Click Save.
    The Companies tab is available. You can view a list of companies that are associated with this customer group.
