Creating accounting entity hierarchies

  1. Select Setup > Finance Enterprise Group > Maintenance.
  2. Open a record and select the Report Basis tab.
  3. Open an existing report basis and navigate to the Entity For Basis tab.
  4. Click Create Summary Accounting Entity, and specify the required details.
  5. Click Submit.

    The new accounting entity is created with the dimension type of summary. The Add Posting option is available when the dimension type is set to summary.

  6. Right-click Add Posting and select Create Child Summary Within.
  7. Complete the fields and click Submit.

    A child summary accounting entity is created and displayed in the selected Summary Accounting Entity.

  8. Right-click the Posting Accounting Entity and click Move.
  9. Select the Summary Accounting Entity and move it to the Posting Accounting Entity.
