Escheatment

Escheatment is the process of reporting unclaimed and unreconciled amounts to the government.

The escheatment process will create an output file with header and detail records. The EscheatmentOutputFileHeader record contains information related to the run such as create date/time, parameter values, processing status, and record count. The EscheatmentOutputFileDetail record contains information related to the Cash Ledger Transaction records selected and available for processing.

In order to complete the escheatment process, two actions must be performed. First, the Escheatment Processing action selects and validates the qualifying transactions. The second action, Perform Escheatment, updates the Cash Ledger Transaction records. This action can only be performed when no errors are found in the transaction records.
