Bank account format

Bank accounts must be numbered according to the international standard (ISO13616). This standard is known as International Bank Account Number (IBAN) and has a predefined structure, which contains details of the bank or branch identifier.

Brazil specifics

The IBAN is a valid bank account format for Brazil.

An IBAN consists of a two-letter country code, two check digits and a Basic Bank Account Number (BBAN). A BBAN includes information about the domestic bank and account number. The IBAN print format adds one space after every four characters whereas the electronic format contains no spaces.
