Address structure

Document layout standards may vary by country, including the placing of printed address on invoices. Generally, the receiver’s address information is located either on the upper left side or upper right side of a document.

Brazil specifics

There is an increase in the control or validation of the address formats being used in ERP systems, for example, requirements when deploying electronic invoices.

This list shows the structured address fields that are required on the Brazilian e-invoice and for electronic banking:

  • Street
  • Building number
  • Complement
  • Neighborhood
  • IBGE city code
  • City name
  • Federation unit
  • Zip code
  • IBGE country code
  • Country name
  • Phone number

Each address is considered a unique legal entity. The address should be identified whether it belongs to a company or an individual. It should have CNPJ, State Number and Municipal Number if it is a company address, or a CPF if it is an individual address.
