Partial asset transfer

A partial transfer is a transfer in which the transferred quantity is less than the total asset quantity.

The only way to perform a partial transfer is to transfer an individual asset.

You can transfer an asset from one company to another if these conditions are met:

  • Intercompany relationships are specified in Global Ledger
  • Calendars are identical

Partial transfers of multi-item assets: For assets that have more than one item, you create a partial transfer if you transfer fewer than the total number of items for the asset. As part of the transfer procedure in this situation, you can select the specific items to transfer. After the transfer process is complete, the items that are selected for transfer become a separate asset and are assigned a new asset number.

Partial transfers of one-item assets: For assets that have only a single item, you create a partial transfer if you specify a quantity that is less than the total quantity for that item. After the transfer process is complete, the quantity that is selected for transfer becomes a separate quantity and is assigned a new asset number.
