Creating recipes

  1. Select Supply Management > Supply Management Setup > Recipe Management > Manage Recipes.
  2. Click Create.
  3. On the Main tab, specify this information:
    Item Group
    Select an item group where Kitchen Management is selected.
    Item
    Select a recipe item.
    Yield Quantity
    Specify the quantity yielded by one batch of the recipe. This value must be a whole number using the stock unit of measure. For example, if the Stock UOM is Gallon and one batch of a recipe for spaghetti sauce yields 10 gallons, specify 10.
    Serving Size
    Specify the size of one serving of the recipe.
    Serving Size UOM
    Specify the unit of measure for the serving size.
  4. On the Ingredients tab, click Create.
  5. Specify this information:
    Sequence
    Specify the sequence number for the ingredient, for example, the order in the ingredient list.
    Type
    Select the type of ingredient. These are the valid values:
    • Ingredient: Select this type to indicate that the ingredient is a food item, for example, sugar.
    • Packaging: Select this type to indicate that the ingredient is a packaging item, for example, a box.
    • Component: Select this type to indicate that the ingredient is a non-food item, for example, birthday candles.
    Item
    Select an ingredient item.
    Recipe Quantity
    Specify the number of the ingredient items that are required by the recipe.
    Recipe Unit of Measure
    Specify the unit of measure for the ingredient item.
  6. Click Submit.
  7. Optionally, on the Instructions tab, click Create.
  8. Specify this information:
    Sequence
    Specify the position of the instruction in the list of steps.
    Instruction
    Specify the instruction details.
  9. Click Save.
