Creating company security groups

Company security groups are associated with a global ledger company group. This global ledger company group defines the global ledger companies that are members. Global ledger companies that are members of a global ledger company group are the companies to which actors have access when a security group is created and associated to the global ledger company groups.

  1. Sign in to one of these roles:
    • ApplicationAdministrator_ST
    • FinancialsAdministrator_ST
    • GLController_ST
    • FinancialBusinessAnalyst_ST
    • ProjectManager_ST
  2. One or more global ledger company groups must already be defined in Global Ledger before you define company security groups. Select Global Ledger > Setup > Global Ledger Company Group and verify the applicable value in the Company Groups list.
    Note: Global Ledger company and accounting entity are not the same thing although they are similar.

  3. Open the applicable company group and verify the companies included on the Companies tab.
  4. Select Global Ledger > Setup > Global Ledger Security Setup > Company Security Groups.
  5. Click Create, specify this information, and then click Save:
    Company Security Group
    Specify a unique name for the security group.
    Description
    Specify a description for the security group.
    Global Ledger Company Group
    Select the global ledger company group to associate to this security group. Actors of this security group have access to the information that is defined by the selected global ledger company group.
  6. Verify the records on the Accessible Companies tab.
Caution: 
Users must be added to a security group of this type before the data is secured.
