Ongoing maintenance tasks

After initial configuration, security groups may require occasional maintenance.

When changes are made to hierarchical dimensions, maintenance of a structure like adding, deleting, or moving dimensions, related security groups must be rebuild. The rebuild process re-computes the available dimension values based on the members defined for the Group. When a security group needs to be rebuilt, an alert icon is displayed and the Requires Rebuild field has a value of Yes.

Note: Accounting entity, global ledger company, and cash code security groups, as well as business group security, do not need to be rebuilt because their available dimensions are based on the global ledger groups to which they are associated.
