Driver weight

A driver weight, is used to allocate expenses for cost objects based on a measure of resource intensity. For example, driver weights can be created based on Relative Value Units (RVUs), MS-DRG weight values, average duration, standard unit costs, or capacity cost rates.

Creating a weight in the Driver Weight tab of a TrueCost configuration includes specifying the weight name and description. When weight data is imported, the weight values are associated with the weight name and description for use in TrueCost allocations.

For example, a driver weight name of Relative Value Unit (RVU) with a description of RVU weight is created. Weight data is imported that specifies the RVU value of each procedure. In this scenario, procedure is the cost object.
