Distributing individual labor

Labor is calculated and distributed only for posted transactions. Labor is only distributed for employee periods that are approved.

  1. Sign in as Project Accountant and select Project Management > Labor Distribution. Select the By Employee tab to view amounts by employee or select the By Period to view amounts by period.
  2. Open the employee labor period.
  3. Select Actions > Distribute Individual Labor.
  4. Specify this information:
    Accounting Entity
Specify the accounting entity to use to select PR transactions to distribute. Specify the GHR Accounting Entity or From Accounting Entity for the GLTransactionDetail records.
    Period
Select the period to process. Only the project assignment record for the specified period are processed. The project assignment records must be in an Approved status to be distributed. The default value is the period for the record you are on.
    Selection Group
Specify a selection group to indicate which payroll salary and wage records are eligible for labor distribution. The default value is the selection group from the labor schedule. You can select a different group or create a new group.

    See Custom groups.

    Process All Transactions
If Selection Group is blank, select this check box to process all of the eligible payroll salary and wage records without using a selection group.
    Posting Date
Specify the posting date for the labor distribution entries created. This must be a valid posting date for the distribution project.
    Optional Override From Accounting Entity
Optionally, specify the accounting entity to override the originating From accounting entity on all GLTransactionDetail records. This value is also the accounting entity that is used for the general ledger journal control. If this field is blank, then the From accounting entity that is on the originating source PR transaction is used.
    Dimensions
To override the offset finance structure for labor, fringe, or both, select the value on the dimension to override. When labor and fringe burden are distributed, the offset is to the same finance structure as the originating source transaction. To override the finance structure or any part of the structure for the labor distribution or fringe burden, enter the dimensions in the offset override fields.
  5. Click Submit.
Errors are displayed on the Errors tab. Correct the errors and rerun the labor distribution.
Note: If the salary cap was exceeded, then the transaction amount is automatically adjusted. The amount is displayed in red and an alert is displayed on the line.
