Proof of delivery processing

Proof of delivery is a method that the customer can use to confirm the receipt of the goods before an invoice is created. You print a POD form to send with the goods during delivery. Then, the customer can accept the shipment, reject the shipment, or accept only some of the goods. When the customer returns the POD form, you can bill the customer.

This is the process you follow for POD orders:

  1. Add order and flag it POD.
  2. Release the customer order.
  3. Process the order. Allocation, print, ship, and release shipment.
  4. Print the Proof of Delivery Notification to send to customer.
  5. If you received delivery notification, then specify the POD on the shipment and release the shipment. Create an invoice.
  6. If you did not receive delivery notification, did the POD grace period expire? If yes, create an invoice.
