Invoice and goods amount

The invoice amount is the amount of the goods, plus any add-on charges or allowances plus tax. Add-on charges = added costs, allowances = deductions.

For example, you receive an invoice for $1046. The goods amount is $1000. The add-on charge for freight totals $46. Matching compares the goods amount on the invoice to the goods amount on the receipt.

In this example, you match against $1000. This assumes the match process type denotes that only the goods are matched.

If the invoice amount does not equal the amount of the goods, then an error message is displayed. The error message indicates that the invoice amount is not equal to Invoice Details and PO Tax and AOC cannot be matched. This means the invoice is out of balance and that you must adjust either the invoice amount or the goods, tax, or add-on charge.
