Maintaining budget data in a scenario

Incremental load

Use incremental load to import or load additional budgets to a ready budget scenario. Changes are not tracked and the budget is not subject to the approval process or budget editing. Use incremental load to import additional budgets, load forecast budgets, or to create budgets on new projects or accounts. You can use incremental load to replace or clear loaded budget data. Uploaded budget data with the same dimension and period are replaced by the new imported data. Existing budget data that is created through the change request process is not overwritten.

We recommend the incremental load only when ready templates do not exist. When ready templates exist, you can use incremental load to add data for future periods with no obligations.

Budget change requests

Use change requests to adjust budgets on a budget scenario that is in a ready state and to track the changes. Use change requests for changes to an existing budget that must be tracked or is subject to the approval process and to budget editing. If active templates exist, then change requests are edited.

When ready templates exist, we recommend that you use change requests for budget changes.
