Commitments and encumbrance processing

When the encumbrance option of an Infor system code is set to Track or Track And Edit, a commitment or encumbrance record is created. The record is created as part of the transaction record. A commitment record is used during budget editing as part of the calculation to calculate the remaining budget balance.

These transactions generate and update encumbrance or commitment records when the system code is set to Track or Track And Edit. When Track is used, commitments are created and tracked. When Track and Edit is used, commitments are created and budgets are edited.

Journals Posting Date N/A Journal entries do not create commitment records. If the system code GL is set to Track And Edit, released journals are considered in the budget edit. Released journals are included in the calculation of the budget group obligations.
RJ Track

Recurring Journals Posting Date N/A Recurring journals do not create commitment records. If the system code RJ is set to Track And Edit, released journals are considered in the budget edit. Released journals are included in the calculation of the budget group obligations.
CA Track

Allocation Transactions Posting Date N/A Allocations do not create commitment records. If the system code CA is set to Track And Edit, released journals from allocations are considered in the budget edit. Released journals are included in the calculation of the budget group obligations.
