Inventory Management reordering process

There are several ways to reorder items that are based on the item's replenishment strategy.

Requisitions are created only for items that have a Reorder Document code of Requisition in the Item Location record.

The Distribution Requirements Report is used to replenish inventory items that have the Time Phased Ordering method and have a Reorder Document code of Requisition.

The Replenishment by Requisition report is used to replenish inventory items that have a Fixed Order Point reordering method and have a Reorder Document code of Requisition. Requisitions are created from this report that are then converted into purchase orders. Items that have a Reorder Document code of Purchase Order are replenished using Vendor Reorder Advice.

The Location Replenishment Report is used to replenish inventory items that meet these criteria:

  • Items are stocked from another location
  • Items have a Fixed Order Point replenishment strategy
  • Items have a Reorder Document code of Requisition
