Changing retainer rule

If the retainer was setup with the incorrect option for the retainer rule, the rule can be changed by running the action. There are only two options for the retainer rule: Retainer Project Only or Apply To All Projects. The action that displays is the opposite of the current rule. If the current retainer rule is Retainer Project Only, the action displays as Apply Retainer To All Projects. If the current retainer rule is Apply To All Projects, the action displays as Apply Retainer To Retainer Project Only.

  1. Sign in as a Project Accountant, Project Administrator, or Project Manager.
  2. For Project Accountant, select Project Management > Project Contracts.
    For Project Administrator, select Setup > Project Contracts.
    For Project Manager, select My Project Contracts.
  3. Click the Contracts tab and open a contract.
  4. Click the Project Funding tab and select a funding source.
  5. Click the Retainers tab, select the retainer to change the retainer rule.
  6. Select Actions > Apply Retainer To All Projects or Apply Retainer To Retainer Project Only.
