Creating and closing effort periods

  1. Select Financials > Project Ledger > Setup > Project Setup.
  2. Click the Effort Schedules tab.
  3. Open the effort schedule and click the Periods tab.
The effort periods are displayed including begin date, end date, and period status. Use the Status column to close effort schedule periods. A period cannot be closed if a labor schedule for the same period is still open. Periods are created in an Open status. Use the Status field to control what is displayed on effort certification forms. After effort has been certified for a period, change the period status to Closed. The period is no longer displayed on certification forms.
  4. To create effort schedule periods through a specific date, click the Detail tab and select Actions > Create Period Dates. Select a Period Thru Date and click Submit.
Periods are automatically created through the date selected. For future years, the effort schedule is automatically extended when a labor distribution action is run that has labor dates beyond the existing effort dates.
  5. To close a period change the Status to Closed and click Save.
