Creating fund accounting rules

When fund accounting is enabled, you can create rules to define how funds are distributed. Use fund accounting rules to create offset distributions for cash ledger transactions, cash ledger payments, EFT Transactions, and wire transfers.

See Enabling and disabling fund accounting.

  1. Select Fund Accounting Rules.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Type
Select the rule type. This list shows the valid values:
    • Cash Code Distribution
    • Offset Cash Ledger Payment Distribution
    • Eft Payment Distribution
    • Wire Transfer Distribution

Create the same rule set for both types. The same rule set ensures that the same logic applies for these account entries:

    • Offset general ledger account entries with a type of Offset Cash Ledger Payment Distribution, Eft Payment Distribution, and Wire Transfer Distribution; and
    • Corresponding general ledger account entries created for the cash code with a type of Cash Code Distribution.
    Priority
Specify the priority of the rule relative to other fund accounting rules.
  4. Click Save.
