Price base

A price base is the starting price for an item and the base from which you build your pricing structure. For example, you use the price base of an item to calculate price markups or discounts for that item.

You can derive the price base from the manufacturer's suggested retail price, your list price, or your item cost. You must assign each item to at least one price base. Depending on the flexibility requirements in your pricing structure, the same item can belong to more than one price base.

Each price base must have a unique name, as shown in this example.

Item Price base name Price base
FR-44PE COST $23.75
LIST $35.00
CAT $30.00

You can update price bases using worksheets. Worksheets can be used for mass price base updates.
