Creating company customers

  1. Select Financials > Receivables > Manage Customers > Company Customers.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Company
    Select a company number.
    Customer
    Select a customer number.
    Start Date
    Select the start date for the customer. If this field is blank, then the system date is used.
    Status
    Select the status of the customer. If the customer is Inactive, then you cannot specify invoices in Invoice Batch or Transaction Interface. If the status is Delete, then you cannot specify payments, memos, or invoices.
    Default Code
    Select the customer default code that is assigned to the customer.
    Sales Representative
    Select the primary sales representative that is assigned to the customer. If this field is blank, then the sales representative that is assigned in Default Codes is used.
    Credit Analyst
    Select the credit analyst that is assigned to the customer. If this field is blank, then the credit analyst that is assigned in Default Codes is used.
  4. On the Main tab, specify this information.
    Receivable Hold Code
    Select a hold code to prevent the customer form placing orders. If this field is blank, then the hold code that is assigned in Customers is used.
    Carrier Flag
    Select this check box for the carrier flag.
    Affiliate
    Select this check box if the customer is an affiliate.
    Affiliate Ownership
    If the Affiliate check box is selected, select the type of affiliate ownership: Parent Enterprises, Subsidiary Enterprises, or Fellow Enterprises.
    Risk Code
    Specify a risk code for this customer. If this field is blank, then the risk code that is defined for the company is used.
    Credit Limit
    Specify the total amount of credit in company base currency that is extended to the customer. If this field is blank, then the credit limit that is defined for the customer is used.
    Order Limit
    Specify in company based currency the total order amount that is placed on this customer. If this field is blank, then the order limit that is defined for the customer is used.
    Credit Limit Date
    Specify the date of the customer's last credit limit review. The Credit Review Days are added to Credit Limit Date to determine the next credit limit review. If this field is blank, then Start Date is used.
    Credit Review Days
    Specify the number of days to add to Credit Limit Date to determine the date of the customer's next credit review.
    Locale
    Specify the locale information.
    Currency
    Specify the currency code to use on the customer's transactions during entry. If this field is blank, then the company base currency that is defined in Global Ledger is used.
    Currency Revaluation
    Select this check box to revalue transaction currencies against company base currency to account for exchange rate fluctuations.
    Major Class
    Select the major class code for the customer. If this field is blank, then the major class that is assigned to the customer default code in Customers is used.
    Minor Class
    Select the minor class code for the customer. If this field is blank, then the major class that is assigned to the customer default code in Customers is used.
    National Account
    If this company customer is a Child customer, then the National Account parent company customer values are displayed. The value automatically shows and cannot be overridden when the National Account Type is Parent or Child.
    Note: The Parent or Child customer is displayed in the National Account Type if the company customer is part of the National Account. No is displayed if this company customer is not part of a National Account.
  5. In the Contact Information section, specify this information:
    Contact
    Specify the name of the primary contact for this customer. If this field is blank, then the contact that is defined in Customers is used.
    E Mail
    Specify the email address of the primary contact.
    Link
    Specify a link for the customer contact.
    Phone Country Code/Phone Number/Extension
    Select the phone country code and specify the phone number/extension of the contact. These fields are free-format to accommodate a variety of number formats.
    Fax Country Code/Phone Number/Extension
    Select the fax country code and specify the fax number/extension of the contact. These fields are free-format to accommodate a variety of number formats.
    Telex
    Specify the telex number for the customer. This field is free format to accommodate a variety of number formats.
    EDI
    Specify the electronic data interchange (EDI) number that is assigned to the customer.
    Alt EDI
    Specify the alternate EDI number or address.
    Alt EDI Type
    Specify the type of alternate EDI number.
  6. On the Address tab, you can view the Country, Type, Latitude, Longitude, and Altitude fields.
  7. Click Save.
    The Customer Comments, Transaction Comments, National Account Children, Process Level Inclusion, Contacts, Bank Accounts, Attachments, and Invoice Types tabs are now available.
