Dimension structures

If you include dimensions in your finance structure, then you must create at least one dimension structure and dimension hierarchy for each dimension. You can create multiple dimensions structures for each dimension. One must be an enterprise dimension that is used as the default dimension structure for that dimension on reporting bases.

Unlike accounting unit structures, dimension structures are not shared among dimensions.

To view the dimension structures for each dimension, select Financials > Setup > Finance Enterprise Group > Structure Compare. For each dimension and structure, you can view the structure's hierarchy and the reporting bases that use the structure.

You must create at least one dimension structure for each of the dimensions that are defined for your finance enterprise group. One structure in each dimension must be the enterprise structure. The enterprise structure is used as a default on reporting bases.
Note: Finance dimensions that are included in security groups are displayed with a notification symbol and hoover text saying Structure is used in a security group. You can select DrillAround > Used in Security Groups to view information about the security group of which the selected structure is a member.

Changes to the structure of Finance Dimension Security Groups require a rebuild of the affected security groups.
