Tax as AOC

Tax as AOC provides a way to map values from a TXI segment to Match Invoice AOC records based on the specific tax type codes that is sent in TXI01. If TXI01 contains an code which customer has designated as identifying an add on cost, then create the AOC record at the appropriate level, or otherwise handle as tax.

Vendors that supply certain products to customers in MN must pay MN Care Tax. The tax is bundled with state taxes. It is not a tax that the customer pays to the state and is causing out-of-balance problems when matching because it costs too much tax. Cardinal, for example, create a change to send the MN Care Tax as a separate TXI segment with a ZZ qualifier.

Even if the MN Care tax is separated out in the 810 in the Match Invoice interface data, there is no distinction between different taxes. There is a single field for tax amount on the header and line records along with a tax code. The tax code is a value in the system that specifies how the tax amount is broken out. For example, the tax consists of these quantities:

  • local 2%
  • state 3%
  • federal 3%
  • mn care 2%
