When to create a new contract versus link to an existing contract

You can use GPO data to create new contracts or link to existing contracts through the Contract Interface.

Reasons to link to existing contracts:

• You are working with a system where manufacturer and distributor contracts are already established
• The maintenance of contracts from GPO data is being introduced.

Reasons to create new contracts:

• You are working with a new system where you create manufacturer and distributor contracts using GPO data
• You are working in an established system where the GPO provides information about a brand new contract that they have negotiated
