Stale dating

Stale dating is the process of identifying check payments that have been processed but have not yet cleared the bank after a certain period of time.

The stale dating process will create an output file with header and detail records. The StaleDateOutputFileHeader record contains information related to the run such as create date/time, parameter values, processing status, and record count. The StaleDateOutputFileDetail record contains information related to the Cash Ledger Transaction records selected and available for processing.

In order to complete the stale dating process, two actions must be performed. First, the Stale Date Processing action selects and validates the qualifying transactions. The second action, Perform Stale Date, updates the Cash Ledger Transaction records. This action can only be performed when no errors are found in the transaction records.
