Purging asset books

Remove obsolete or unwanted asset book records for a book that is assigned to a company or a company group. You can remove all asset book records or only historical asset book records.

Before you can purge all records from a book, you must change the book status to Inactive.

  1. Select Utilities > Book Purge.
  2. Specify this information:
    Book
    Select an inactive book from which the record is purged.
    Company
    Select a company or a company group. You cannot select both. If you select a company group, then the book you select must be used for all companies in the company group.
    Company Group
    Select a company or a company group. You cannot select both. If you select a company group, then the book you select must be used for all companies in the company group.
    Asset
    Optionally select the asset to purge.
    Purge
    You can select whether to purge all book records or only historical records. If this field is blank, then all book records are purged. Historical records are collected only for books with the Depreciation History of Yes.
    Action Option
    Select whether to purge records or to run the report only. We recommend you run in Report only mode to verify what you are purging. You can also access the report when you select Purge Records.
  3. Click OK.
