Project Funding enhanced to include funding group

You can now define a funding group on the Project Funding Source. After the first set of funding sources with the same funding group is exhausted, the generate invoice action processes the next grouping of funding sources. This is helpful when federal grant and associated match funds must be spent simultaneously and there are multiple federal grants that require a match per project contract.

Program/Business class/Process affected:

• New Funding Group field has been added to these business classes:
  • ProjectFundingSource
  • ProjectFundingSourceChangeRequest
  • ProjectFundingSourceTemplate
• The generate project invoice action has been enhanced to honor the new Funding Group field.

Use these steps to test the enhancement:

1. Add a project contract with multiple funding sources, such as federal grant 1, match 1, federal grant 2, and match 2.
2. Assign the same funding group to the federal grant 1 and its associated match funding source. Do the same for federal grant 2.
3. Click Generate Invoice with processing or funding calculation based on Priority or order, percentage, funded amount, and funding group.
   Caution: 
   The match funds must be next in priority to be processed and calculated correctly. Additionally, the last funding source in each funding group must be 100%.
4. After the first set of funding sources with the same funding group is exhausted, the generate invoice action processes the next grouping of funding sources. Verify that both the federal grant and its associated match are processed simultaneously.
