Asset Addition Report page enhancements

The Asset Addition Report was updated to incorporate 4.0 controls in the search display and provide this additional content:

  • Updated the asset field to be a link to open the related asset
  • Include
  • Book Depreciation Method
  • Asset Owner
  • Life To Date Depreciation
  • Year To Date Depreciation
  • Current Period Depreciation (if calculated)

Copy existing asset

You can copy an existing asset which will create a new asset with the fields specified. You can copy the items from an existing asset, which copies the existing items. You can copy an existing book. If you do not copy an existing book, the required books are added. If the currency is changed during the copy process, the cost on the item is converted based on the exchange rate.

Fixed assets schedule report and India Depreciation Detail Report

Depreciation rate, current year beginning book value, and projected year end value have been added to Asset Catalog on the Asset Listing menu. When using class depreciation, the depreciation rate is included. Current Year Beginning Book value and Projected current year end book value require the Update Current Year End Balance action to be run from the Utilities menu.

  1. Run Update Current Year End Balance on the Asset Utilities menu to update the Year End Book Value
  2. Select Asset Catalog on the asset listing menu.

Create Fixed Asset Catalog for Localization requirements

The asset catalog was added to the asset listings menu to provide a list of assets to include when using class depreciation for the depreciation rate. Asset group, asset summary group, asset location, asset department, current year beginning book value, projected year end value, and current period depreciation are included.

Additional sub panels on the list provide access to details related to transfers, disposals and adjustments and transactions are available via drill links.

The current required period depreciation has been calculated for the current period for an asset. The year end value requires the Update Year End Balance action to be run from the Utilities menu.

Use these steps to test this enhancement:

  1. Go to the asset listings menu and select Asset Catalog to review the contents of the report.
  2. Calculate depreciation to view current period depreciation in the list.
  3. Run Update Year End Balance to view this value in the list.
