Data hierarchy
As administrator, you must define the data hierarchy for the application and configure access to data hierarchy levels for application users. A data hierarchy determines users' access to data in the application and filters the availability of categories and corresponding sub-items in the Style, Material, and Trim overview panels.
If you do not define a data hierarchy or define users' access to data hierarchy levels, users can sign in to the application but will not be able view data.
By setting up data levels in a hierarchy, you accomplish these necessary tasks:
- Specify users' access to data, enabling you to filter what they can view, add, or modify.
- Define and specify the types of data that users can create in the application.
- Set up default data and access to certain features, such as styles.
You define data hierarchies for each user or user group in the application.
