Adding a TCP/IP printer in Windows

If you are having trouble adding a printer to the print service, try these steps:

  1. Open the Windows Printers & Scanners screen. Then click Add Printer.
  2. Wait for the system to search. Then click the The printer that I want isn't listed link.
  3. Select Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Change the Device type to TCP/IP Device. Then specify the IP address and port of your printer.
  6. Find the driver for the printer model in question to use and choose it.
  7. Follow through the additional prompts to add your printer.

Now you can return to IDM and add the printer to the print service.
