Widgets
A widget is a unit of content that is displayed on the widget board of the Home page.
Infor configures the widget board to your specification. Widgets and the widget board or the Home page have behavioral properties that present configuration opportunities. You can specify the configuration for the widget board in these conditions:
- During implementation, if widgets are unpinned, you can specify the initial arrangement of widgets that users see when they initially log in. Users can rearrange widgets on the board, close open widgets, and open closed widgets to the widget board. This setting applies to all users.
- You can pin widgets to the widget board. Pinned widgets apply to all users, and users cannot rearrange or close them.
Common traits of widgets
The subject data item of a widget's landing page or a standalone widget determines the IIQL or intuitive interlinking links that map content to the widget. This data item must be configured.
Access to the documents that are displayed on the widget are determined by groups. To control which items are displayed on a widget, you must use meta tags and must not add items directly to the link list. Meta tagging also applies to content and redirect or SSO integration URLs. Use the meta tagging strategy that is determined by the landing page subject.
See Meta tags.
Landing page widgets
Landing page widgets are filtered based on the user's access to the landing page. If a user doesn't have access to a landing page, the user cannot see the widget that is associated with that landing page.
Each widget includes two link lists with one link on each link list. The title link list has a link to the landing page that is associated with the widget. The other link list has a link that is used to show content that is mapped to the widget.
All widgets are pre-configured with options, default text, and default images.
| Widget | Configuration option |
|---|---|
| Widget image | Use this widget option to add an image to a widget. You can configure the data items to select an image and specify an alt tag to ensure that it's responsive for all devices and screen resolutions. The widget image must conform to the exact height and width sizing as specified in the CCT User Guide. |
| Widget introductory text | Use this widget to add introductory text to a widget. The text is beneath the widget name. |
Dynamic widgets
Dynamic widgets are SmartWare widgets such as Ask HR or Announcements. You can't edit dynamic widgets, but you can configure dynamic widgets with data items or options. All dynamic widgets are filtered.
Countdown timer widgets
Countdown timer widgets count down the time until an important event or deadline. You can also use the countdown timer widget to notify employees of upcoming events, such as open enrollment.
Customers can configure each of the countdown timer widgets for a different event and use them on the Home page simultaneously.
| Configuration option | Description |
|---|---|
| Single-date timer | The single-event setting shows the number of days, hours, minutes, and seconds before an event begins or ends. For example, when setting a single-date timer for open enrollment, you can configure the widget to show Open Enrollment starts in 10 days, 12 hours, 30 minutes, and 5 seconds. |
| Double-date timer | The two-event setting shows the number of days, hours, minutes, and seconds before an event begins and ends. For example, when setting a double-date timer for open enrollment, you can configure the widget to show Open Enrollment starts in 10 days, 12 hours, 30 minutes, and 5 seconds, and Open Enrollment ends in 14 days, 8 hours, 5 minutes, and 15 seconds. |
Each countdown timer widget can include an image, introductory text, and links. This content is mapped with data items, using the widgets' unique subjects.
Single-date timer
Single-timer countdown widgets count down to a single date and time.
- A message is displayed while the countdown is running. For example, Mandatory compliance training is due.
- A message is displayed when the countdown concludes. For example, The deadline for mandatory compliance training has passed. If you did not complete training during the allowable time period, training will be rescheduled.
Double-date timer
The Double-date time setting includes two consecutive countdown timers to mark the start time of an event and the end time of the same event. When the first timer reaches zero, the second timer starts.
- A message is displayed while the first countdown is running. For example, Open enrollment begins in.
- A message is displayed after the first countdown ends and while the second countdown is running to communicate the purpose of the second timer. For example, Open enrollment ends in.
- A message is displayed when the second countdown concludes. For example, Open enrollment has concluded. For more information, contact your HR representative.
UTC time zones
The UTC time zone information is required for the timer to work correctly. Time zones and the use of Daylight and Standard times vary from country to country, and from city to city. The UTC information should be verified for the regional population for which the timer shows.
