User roles and permissions
Role-based access is used in HRSD Knowledgebase to define what each user can view or manage in the portal and the actions they can perform.
Administrators create and maintain user accounts that involve creating or editing roles to ensure correct access to HRSD Knowledgebase features and content to perform actions that involve the creation or editing of content. Each user account stores details such as user name, email address, and password.
To perform actions that involve creating or editing content, the user must meet these conditions:
- Assigned a user role that is required to perform the action described
- A member of a group that has been assigned access to the document
This table shows the types of roles and their type of access:
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Producer | A user with permission to perform some or all available toolset functions. |
| Reviewer | A user with permission to comment on documents. The reviewer can edit documents only in workflows. |
