Mapping a link to a widget

You must know the subject tag of the widget on which you want the link to display.

The widget must be activated and visible on the Home page.

This topic describes the process that you use to place links to content pages and uploaded documents on landing page widgets. Each widget includes IIQL meta tagging links. Content pages or uploaded files, such as PDFs or spreadsheets, can be mapped to the widgets with meta tags. Pre-built content pages, new content pages, and uploaded files all require the configuration or addition of a meta tag to the documents so that the page is mapped to the widget.

To map a content page or an uploaded file to a widget, add a widget meta tag to the document. For content pages, also configure the subject data item with the subject of the associated landing page.

  1. Access the document manager.
  2. Click the document that you want to edit. If the document is not checked out by another user, the system checks it out, and it is ready for editing. If the document is checked out by another user, you are not permitted to check it out until it is checked in again.
  3. With the uploaded document page that you want to link to checked out, click the document title menu list and select Meta Tags.
  4. Right-click the name of the page in the Meta Tags menu and select Add Meta.
  5. Specify this information:
    Key
    specify Widget.
    Value
specify the subject of the landing page that is associated with the widget e.g., benefits.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Close the Meta Tags menu. When you check in and publish the page, go to the Home page and verify that the link has been added to the widget.
