Configuration overview
The process involves two main steps: adding a copy of the widget and configuring the copy.
Required information
Before you configure the widget, identify the items in this list that are relevant to your configuration. Specific details are available in the topics that describe the configuration process.
- The name of the timer that is shown on the Set Up Home Page page. For example, Compliance Training.
- The groups that have access to the timer
- The image that is shown in the widget. You can use the standard image, or you can specify another image. The dimensions of images must be exactly 470 pixels in width x 100 pixels in height. Files must be .png or .jpg.
- A text description of the image, for 508 Compliance.
- Optional introductory text that is shown below the timer and above the link list. For example, Compliance training is the process by which employees' understanding of your organizations policies is verified.
- Optional link list header. For example, Materials for review.
- Optional link list text that is shown above the link list. For example, Complete each training in the list.
- Optional documents that are mapped to the links in the link list. Links to these documents populate the link list.
- UTC parameter for dates, based on time zone and standard or daylight savings
- For single-timer widgets, text that is shown during the countdown and when the countdown is finished.
- For double-timer widgets, text that is shown during the first countdown, during the second countdown, and when the countdown is finished.
- The format for text that is shown under the numeric value on the timer. For example, Days, Hours, Minutes, Seconds or Days, Hrs, Min, Sec or D, H, M, S.
- A title that is shown below the image and above the messages. This is not the same as the title. For example, Compliance Training.
- Pinning placement to pin the widget to the Home page.
- Optional expiration date. If an expiration date is set for the timer document, then the document is removed on the date.
Configuration considerations
- Event start dates can begin in daylight savings time and end in standard time. They can begin in standard time and end in daylight savings time.
- The timer accounts for differences in time zones. For example, if the timer is set to end at midnight EST, then for users in the PST zone the timer ends at 9:00 PM.
