Creating a mobile profile

Each user can create a mobile profile that can be used to access Knowledgebase from a mobile device. To create a mobile profile, a user selects a link on the Mobile Profile widget. This link calls a form that the user completes. On this form, the user specifies an email address where the mobile notification is sent to and a PIN. When the form is submitted, an email is sent to the email account that the user specified in the form. The user then accesses the email and clicks on a link in the email. The user enters the PIN that was specified in the first form. When the PIN is entered, the Home page of the knowledgebase is called, and the user is logged in and ready to browse.

  1. On the Home page, find the Mobile Profile widget. If you do not see the widget, then the widget may not be enabled. In that case, you must enable the widget. See Configuring widget layout on the Home page.
  2. In the Mobile Profile widget, click Add Mobile Profile.
  3. Specify this information:
    Specify the user name that you use for your Knowledgebase account.
    Specify a PIN that you will use to gain mobile access in the next steps.
    Specify your email account to which the mobile access link is sent.
  4. On your mobile device, access your email account, open the email that was sent by the system, and click the link.
  5. Specify your PIN and click OK. You are logged into the system.
