Adding a landing page widget to the home page

The landing page for which you are making a widget must exist in the system.

You can add a widget to the home page that links to an existing landing page so your workforce can efficiently access its content. In addition to the link, the widget can contain text and an image.

  1. Access the document manager.
  2. Click the page that you want to edit. If the page is not checked out by another user, then the system checks it out, and it is ready for editing. If the page is checked out by another user, then you are not permitted to check it out until it is checked in again.
  3. In the menu list beside the page title, click Options. The Configure Options panel opens.
  4. Click Widget. Review other widget options and select the options that you want to use
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Close the Configure Options panel. The landing page displays in Edit mode.
  7. Scroll to the bottom of the landing page to the Widget topic.
  8. Click into the text element to open the widget text editor.
  9. Type a brief description or tagline that describes the landing page. Keep the text short and to the point.
  10. To add an image, verify that the image is the required size. For card style widgets the image must be 300 pixels by 100 pixels, and the image must be set to 100% width. For standard widgets the image must be 75 pixels by 75 pixels. See Images.
  11. When you have finished editing the widget, click Save.
  12. Publish to draft or check the page in and publish to live. The widget is available for viewing in draft form or on the live site.
  13. On the Home page, you can drag the widget to a different position.
